Job Summary

Core member of the EOS team in Sydney, designing and delivering foundational networking features for Arista’s Linux-based EOS. You’ll architect, develop in C/C++ and Python, collaborate with product teams and customers, own quality through specs and automated tests, mentor junior engineers, and engage with Customer Support to triage complex network issues.

Key Responsibilities

•Architect and Develop: Design and develop innovative networking features in C/C++ and Python for Arista's Linux-based EOS.
•Collaborate: Define functional requirements and technical designs for new EOS capabilities with product management and customers.
•Own Quality: Write functional specifications, design documents, test plans, and automated tests to ensure high-quality code.
•Lead and Mentor: Provide technical leadership, participate in code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
•Customer Engagement: Work with Customer Support Engineers to triage, debug, and resolve complex network issues.

Key Requirements

•A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (BSc, MS, or PhD).
•Strong, demonstrable software development experience in C/C++ and/or Python.
•Strong understanding of operating systems. Proficiency in systems programming, preferably in a UNIX/Linux environment.
•A strong interest in computer networking technologies.
•Applied understanding of software engineering principles.
