Seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to shape Databricks’ Networking Infrastructure. You’ll own the design of large-scale connectivity platforms powering the control and compute planes across multi-cloud environments, driving architectural vision, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with product and operations teams to deliver durable, extensible networking systems that scale millions of VMs and optimize cloud resource usage.

Key Responsibilities

•Own and drive the design of large-scale connectivity platforms that form the backbone between the control plane and compute plane.
•Set technical direction, lead cross-team initiatives, and mentor senior engineers at an org-wide level.
•Translate long-term business goals into durable, extensible networking systems in collaboration with product management and partner engineering teams.
•Influence architecture and execution across teams, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficient cloud resource usage.
•Collaborate with product, operations, and other engineering teams to shape the future of networking infrastructure across multiple clouds.

Key Requirements

•15+ years of production level experience in one of: Rust, Java, Scala, C++, or similar language
•10+ years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems from scratch
•Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures
•Experience with cloud networking, Kubernetes, infrastructure automation languages like Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
