Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide personal financial services and counseling to service members and families at assigned military installations.
  • •Deliver and coordinate one-on-one counseling, consultations, and referral resources, including support via virtual counseling or secure electronic communication.
  • •Develop and provide informational financial materials for service members and families.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and provide Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle (including pre- and post-deployment and other events).
  • •Manage duty to warn situations per DoD protocol and participate in individual/group supervision, in-services, and quality improvement activities.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required (associate degree plus 4 years’ experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience, may be considered in lieu).
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English (and be bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract).
  • •Obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass OCI process requirements.
  • •Must hold one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
