Job Summary

Serve as the key client interface delivering value-added cost management across complex advanced manufacturing and cleanroom construction projects in the San Diego area. Lead estimating and change-order negotiation, produce cost plans, forecasts, and monthly reporting, and coordinate cost data across designers, engineers, contractors, and vendors. Manage cost control, auditing, valuations, and final closeout, while providing commercial input into value engineering and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as the key day-to-day client interface delivering cost management services across complex construction projects.
•Lead estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle, aligning scope, budget, and contract terms.
•Provide cost planning and estimating at project milestones; collaborate with design teams, engineers, and general contractors across multiple technical scopes.
•Manage cost control including contingency utilization, variance analysis, and change management across phases or workstreams.
•Prepare written commentary and executive summaries on submissions, produce monthly cost reports/forecasts/funding updates, and support cost auditing and final account closeout.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 165,000 - 190,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a field related to construction.
•Minimum 5-7 years of relevant cost management experience in the construction industry.
•RICS accredited or working towards it is preferred.
•Experience leading cost management on medium to large construction projects with medium to high complexity.
•Strong commercial, client-facing, and communication skills.
