Key Responsibilities

  • •Install building automation systems, including temperature control systems such as conduit, enclosures, wiring, and end devices.
  • •Prepare for on-site installation by reviewing building layouts, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials, and coordinating with other trades.
  • •Maintain assigned inventory, company equipment, tools, and related records, and ensure all required paperwork and reports are completed on time.
  • •Serve as direct customer contact and service products and equipment by diagnosing and repairing control systems at customer locations.
  • •Keep current on Trane products for installation of direct digital control systems and travel as required with occasional overnight stays.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent, with typically 2–5 years of experience in HVAC/controls (technical school/formal training preferred).
  • •Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and proficiency with a handheld computer (e.g., smartphone, iPad).
  • •Knowledge of low-voltage electricity and electronics troubleshooting, including direct digital controls and building control techniques.
  • •Current or future participation in an ABC electrical apprenticeship program is desired.
  • •Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations; previous DDC controls experience is preferred.
