Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the design and development of building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, emergency/standby power, fire alarm, and low-voltage/special systems.
  • •Prepare and oversee engineering calculations, technical specifications, reports, studies, and construction documents.
  • •Perform and review load calculations, short-circuit analyses, coordination studies, arc flash studies, and other technical evaluations.
  • •Lead project design efforts using Revit, AutoCAD, and other engineering software, coordinating with architects, structural engineers, mechanical/plumbing engineers, owners, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • •Support construction administration by conducting site investigations and construction observation visits, reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, and technical submittals for compliance.

Key Requirements

  • •ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or related ABET-accredited building systems/construction degree).
  • •5 to 7 years of relevant experience designing electrical systems for buildings in a consulting engineering environment.
  • •Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • •Demonstrated experience designing power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for building projects.
  • •Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and International Building Code (IBC), plus proficiency preparing electrical construction documents and specifications.
