Job Summary

Perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light/follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment. Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine electronics, HVAC, steering, transmissions, and related systems using test instruments and road tests. Maintain parts inventory and service truck compliance, document work on repair orders using company tools, and follow OSHA/EPA/DOT safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) and DOT inspections with follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic components across multiple vehicle systems, including troubleshooting via test instruments and road tests.
•Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on a company-issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation.
•Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle, including daily safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
•Complete DOT and other required documentation and upload repair order details and work photos using a company-issued iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field (or alternative education/certification or 5 years’ experience).
•Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform the required job duties.
•Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
•Pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or submit a valid DOT medical card with required remaining validity).
•Valid Class C driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File; candidates must be at least 21 years or older.
