Key Responsibilities

  • •Support Aerodynamics work by using wind tunnel testing and computational techniques to analyse and optimise aircraft design across the flight envelope.
  • •Support Design Engineering by liaising with stakeholders and contributing to integrated airframe design definitions and physical product datasets, including CAD definition and bill of materials management.
  • •Support Materials Engineering by analysing, qualifying, and testing materials, investigating material properties and failures, and contributing to development of materials for airborne platforms.
  • •Support Structures Engineering by performing structural analysis calculations to validate strength, stiffness, and structural life of BAE Systems Air platforms.
  • •Collaborate within the Air Team on delivering products and through-life support for aircraft including Typhoon, F-35, and Tempest.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 34,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Obtain or be predicted to obtain a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or Maths.
  • •Attend your site location 4–5 days per week for the role in Warton/Samlesbury (Lancashire).
  • •Achieve the Baseline Personnel Security Standard required for the role (with some roles subject to higher National Security Vetting).
  • •Be prepared for potential export control and security-related eligibility restrictions based on nationality history and place of birth.
  • •Undertake learning across four disciplines: Aerodynamics, Design Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Structures Engineering.
