Key Responsibilities

  • •Coordinate and bring coherence across GPA’s AI activity, serving as the connective point across AI efforts and identifying synergies.
  • •Establish an operating rhythm and decision-making approach for GPA’s AI public goods, coordinating with AISC and relevant program and regional teams.
  • •Take end-to-end accountability for AI public-goods deliverables in GPA’s remit, driving work from concept to completion.
  • •Shape, steward, and translate the foundation position on AI topics publicly, coordinating across teams including Global Communications and program teams.
  • •Maintain a dynamic view of the AI funding landscape and run matchmaking to triage, route, and actively shape opportunities between sources and uses of capital.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep substantive expertise in artificial intelligence, including strong understanding of AI policy and advocacy, foundation models, safety, governance, and open-source ecosystems.
  • •Demonstrated experience translating AI expertise into strategy, policy, investment, or implementation decisions, including assessing geopolitical dynamics and identifying risks/opportunities.
  • •Demonstrated ability to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex, fast-evolving work while coordinating across teams and functions.
  • •Strong judgment across both funding/philanthropic and policy domains, with credibility to convene and align senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • •An advanced degree or equivalent demonstrated experience, preferably in international development, law, public policy, or a related field.
