Assist engineers and project teams with technical design and drafting support for utility-scale substations, producing accurate 2D/3D CAD drawings, plans, profiles, and materials lists while ensuring compliance with codes and project specifications. Collaborate across disciplines, manage markups through multiple design reviews, and contribute to accurate design deliverables for power delivery projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Support engineers, project managers, and technical staff with drafting and design activities related to utility, industrial, and commercial-scale substation energy projects.
•Assist with research, design development, and preparation of drawings for transmission and distribution substations, power distribution systems, substation energy facilities, and protection and control systems.
•Collect, compile, and organize data from surveys, field notes, blueprints, schematics, specifications, and sketches to support drafting and design efforts.
•Use 2D and 3D CADD software to prepare drawings of basic to moderate complexity with accuracy and attention to detail.
•Collaborate with engineers to resolve design questions, incorporate markups, and revise drawings through multiple review cycles.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-education drafting and design support experience.
•Familiar with drafting and design support principles, practices, processes, methods and techniques; familiar with codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
•Excellent research and evaluation skills with an analytical mindset; capable to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
•Ability to work independently under general supervision and as part of a team; adhere to safety policies and project schedules.
