Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the Embedded team of Production Engineering, setting direction and creating an environment for senior engineers to do their best work.
  • •Coach and develop engineers, including building psychological safety and helping senior engineers grow their technical and organizational influence.
  • •Partner across teams outside your reporting line to shape technical decisions and challenge assumptions while delivering outcomes.
  • •Identify and focus the team on production problems with the biggest impact, building measurable visibility into results.
  • •Define the team’s operating model and translate engagement learnings into reusable standards, practices, and capabilities across Canva.

Key Requirements

  • •Lead highly experienced software engineers and technical leads through complex or ambiguous work, including direct coaching and development.
  • •Have production experience where reliability, scalability, and production risk are critical to outcomes.
  • •Build earned authority by establishing trust quickly, especially where influence matters more than reporting lines.
  • •Lead cross-org technical initiatives end-to-end, from understanding problems through delivering measurable outcomes.
