Job Summary

Oversee and direct asphalt paving operations for a crew, including personnel, equipment, trucking, and materials. Ensure full compliance with federal and state regulations and the company’s safety practices, run safety meetings/toolbox talks, and complete required daily reporting. Lead a crew of 6–12 by planning, assigning, coaching, and documenting performance while identifying and resolving safety, regulatory, personnel, and production issues.

Key Responsibilities

•Oversee and direct operations of an asphalt paving crew, including personnel, equipment, trucking, and materials.
•Supervise and direct a crew of 6–12, ensuring proper placement of resources and planning/assigning/directing work.
•Ensure job sites are in full compliance with federal and state regulations (including OSHA, MSHA, DEP) and company safety practices.
•Enforce company policies and work rules, discipline when necessary, and document employee performance issues.
•Identify and resolve regulatory, safety, personnel, and production problems; maintain job records and complete required daily reporting.

Key Requirements

•Associate’s degree (or equivalent) from a two-year college or technical school, or 1–2 years of related experience/training (or equivalent combination).

•Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence.
•Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
•Strict adherence to safety requirements and company policies and procedures.
