Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with internal customers to understand challenges, plan and communicate improvements, and anticipate future needs.
  • •Perform root cause analysis of production database issues and address critical support situations with effective solutions.
  • •Collaborate to optimize schemas, queries, and database/server configurations, including data migration/transformation from OLTP to OLAP systems.
  • •Engineer monitoring, backup/restore, and disaster recovery strategies for Microsoft SQL databases; routinely test DR.
  • •Develop automation and self-service tooling using PowerShell, and manage PowerBI licensing, utilization, permissions, and query optimization guidance.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering discipline and 5+ years of IT experience, or 7+ years of database reliability or DevOps experience in lieu of a degree.
  • •7+ years of experience monitoring and tuning databases for high availability and performance.
  • •5+ years of experience optimizing SQL queries and data replication/transformation.
  • •Proficiency in SQL Server and at least one other database technology (Postgres, MySQL, ClickHouse).
  • •Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed to address after-hours network and server errors.
