Key Responsibilities

  • •Spray paint vehicles and related equipment with enamel, lacquer, and vinyl materials to meet protection and appearance requirements.
  • •Apply specialty coatings (e.g., crinkle finishes, nonskid, rubber coatings, fluorescent touch-up) and create irregular-pattern camouflage finishes.
  • •Mix, thin, and adjust paints with appropriate agents to achieve correct finish, thickness, and blending requirements.
  • •Prepare surfaces by inspecting, cleaning, and performing specialized surface preparation and build-up using painting methods and techniques.
  • •Read technical documents to determine paint types, colors, and markings; apply stencils/silk screens/decals and provide guidance to lower-grade employees.
Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

  • •3–5 years of experience in vehicle painting.
  • •High school Diploma/GED with Normal Apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
  • •Ability to interpret Technical Manuals (TMs), Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs), and Technical Bulletins (TBs).
  • •Ability to operate and maintain spray equipment safely and accurately (including setup, nozzle changes, and pressure adjustments).
  • •May be assigned to work 2nd Shift based on workload and operational requirements.
