Job Summary

Lead the end-to-end operations of the distribution centre, ensuring safe and efficient receiving, handling, production, and distribution to customers. Own safety, security, ISO compliance, service levels (OTIF), production targets (including OEE), quality standards, and inventory loss controls. Manage production planning, equipment uptime and maintenance, dispatch and fleet distribution, and industrial relations. Provide day-to-day leadership to operations supervisors and teams, including training, development, and performance feedback.

Key Responsibilities

•Take responsibility for coordination and management of safe and efficient receiving, handling, production, and distribution in the distribution centre.
•Achieve distribution centre operational targets by planning weekly production/distribution, ensuring SLA adherence, and driving OEE improvements.
•Ensure production quality standards, including ISO 9001 compliance, investigating non-conformances with leadership diagnostic tools (ELS), and addressing recycling/reworking options to minimize cost.
•Manage production and inventory by leading operations teams to reduce scrap, monitoring inventories with cycle counts/audits, and investigating stock variances.
•Provide people leadership, training, and performance management for supervisors and operations teams while maintaining industrial relations and overseeing equipment availability and planned maintenance.

Key Requirements

•Grade 12, plus a bachelor’s degree or equivalent operations qualification and a recognised qualification in production supervision/management, logistics, or operations management.
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in the manufacturing or logistics environment.
•3–5 years’ supervisory/managerial experience managing a distribution centre.
•Computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite and MFGpro.
•Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical problem-solving, negotiation/influencing, planning/organising, and project management skills.
