Key Responsibilities

  • •Triage product legal queries and resolve them or escalate to senior lawyers when required.
  • •Partner with product managers to advise on legal matters and regulatory requirements for personal and business banking products.
  • •Coordinate legal matters across Monzo including Compliance, Risk and Control, and other business teams.
  • •Advise on legal issues for product development, proactively identify legal issues, evaluate risks, and recommend effective solutions.
  • •Support legal process efficiency and scalability by testing new ways of working, including AI tools, and provide training and knowledge sharing.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified lawyer (or soon to qualify) with experience working in the banking and finance sector.
  • •Experience advising on legal and regulatory issues relating to banking products.
  • •Experience advising on laws and regulations relevant to financial services, especially payments and banking products.
  • •Experience advising on regulated financial promotions and supporting marketing teams with related legal issues.
  • •Strong communication skills to provide clear, practical legal advice and drive consensus with senior stakeholders.
