Key Responsibilities

  • •Work hands-on with technicians and engineers to build composite components and tooling for novel designs
  • •Guide manufacturability decisions from initial design phase through prototype/LRIP to FRP, including shaping and process development
  • •Drive initial builds and tooling in close collaboration with design, quality, program management, and supply chain teams
  • •Create, review, and release manufacturing documentation including work instructions, MBOMs, quality plans, inspection requirements, and non-conformances
  • •Identify, solve, and reduce manufacturing problems in schedule-driven environments; drive RCCAs with the quality team to eliminate production blockers and recurring issues

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technology related field
  • •5+ years of experience in composite manufacturing in a development environment
  • •Experience with multiple composite manufacturing processes including filament winding, autoclave processing, VARTM, prepregs, and hydraulic press processing
  • •Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T
  • •Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (NX preferred) and ability to be onsite, local to Morrisville, NC; must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
