Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the design and implementation of Smartsheet’s next-generation architecture to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
  • •Define and drive architecture strategy and make key technical decisions shaping the future platform.
  • •Architect and evolve Smartsheet’s Identity and Access foundation across authentication, authorization, and identity lifecycle, scaling securely in enterprise and regulated environments.
  • •Drive strategy for Agentic Identity, defining authentication/authorization/auditing for AI agents and establishing identity patterns for agent-to-service and agent-on-behalf-of-user flows.
  • •Provide technical leadership through design and deployment reviews, mentoring senior engineers and aligning cross-functional teams to architectural goals.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven experience in system architecture and designing scalable, high-availability systems using multiple languages/frameworks (Python, Go, Java, C/C++, SQL).
  • •Deep hands-on Identity and Access Management expertise including SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.x, SCIM provisioning, session management, and multi-factor enforcement at enterprise scale.
  • •Experience designing identity strategy for agentic/AI-driven systems (machine identities, delegated authorization, token exchange, scoped credentials, auditability).
  • •Strong knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices, including leading large-scale architectural transformations across teams.
  • •Legally eligible to work in India on an ongoing basis; fluent in English.
