Job Summary

Control asphalt plant production and load-out activities to meet schedules and quality targets. Operate and monitor equipment to ensure proper asphalt mix quality, oversee truck scales and loading, and enter production data into computer systems. Perform basic maintenance and minor servicing, supervise plant employees, keep the control house and yard clean, and be willing to travel to other plant sites to fill in as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Read work schedules and determine sequence of operations to support production.
•Operate the asphalt plant according to production schedules using appropriate materials and monitor operations to ensure quality of mix.
•Perform basic maintenance and servicing as required to keep plant equipment in efficient working condition.
•Oversee truck scales and loading of trucks and enter production information into computer systems.
•Supervise plant employees, clean control house and yard daily, and travel to other asphalt plant sites as needed.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED preferred, with 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
•Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write correspondences and memos.
•Ability to operate the plant according to production schedules using appropriate materials and monitor material operation to ensure quality of mix.
•Ability to perform basic maintenance and service on plant equipment and refer major problems to the supervisor.
•Knowledge of inventory and order processing systems and the ability to enter production information into computer systems.
