Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the technical design and delivery for MapGPT’s multi-component AI systems, ensuring quality of what ships in your area.
  • •Define product behavior, build measurement frameworks and evaluation systems for non-deterministic behavior, and gate changes using regression results.
  • •Run continuous end-user evaluations across APIs, SDKs, data representations, and reference applications; assess gaps and ensure fixes land.
  • •Build and maintain data pipelines and tooling, including ingestion, conflation, entity resolution, quality checks, and batch/streaming jobs.
  • •Design feedback loops and failure instrumentation, build model/tool boundaries, and optimize latency and cost per request; participate in on-call rotation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelors Degree in a STEM discipline and 5+ years of software engineering experience with production ownership of services, pipelines, or SDKs.
  • •2+ years shipping LLM-backed features to real users with production responsibilities such as error budgets, on-call rotations, and regression impact.
  • •Strong data engineering depth including SQL and experience with distributed processing frameworks and high-impact pipelines.
  • •Fluency with tool calling and agent orchestration, including failure modes such as stale context, hallucinated arguments, silent partial success, and unbounded loops.
  • •Strong Python or TypeScript skills, with comfort reading code in the language used by callers.
