Key Responsibilities

  • •Own delivery, team health, and people outcomes across multiple workstreams within the ML SaMD team.
  • •Translate department strategy into quarterly plans, milestones, and success criteria; align on the highest-leverage work and adapt as the business evolves.
  • •Build and develop the team through hiring, onboarding/leveling practices, and coaching to raise performance and rigor.
  • •Set the standard for regulated ML development, including methodology, work quality, validation rigor, and audit readiness.
  • •Partner across regulatory, quality, product, software, and firmware to align roadmaps, manage dependencies, broker trade-offs, and keep senior leadership informed of consequential risks.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 170,000 - 230,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of experience in ML, applied science, or software engineering, with 3+ years managing engineering and/or science teams.
  • •Deep familiarity with the ML development lifecycle, including data collection, model training, evaluation, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • •Direct experience shipping algorithms or ML-enabled software in a regulated environment (SaMD or comparable QMS-controlled development under FDA, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971).
  • •Strong people leadership experience, including hiring, performance management, and developing ICs.
  • •Ability to set strategy and make prioritization decisions under uncertainty while operating with rigor required for regulated medical device development.
