Job Summary

Architect and optimize high-performance SoCs for cloud computing and machine learning acceleration, focusing on GPU SoCs and next-generation data center systems. Drive microarchitecture exploration, performance modeling, and analysis, including micro-benchmarking, workload characterization, bottleneck identification, and competitive comparisons. Develop tools and methodologies for performance analysis, and communicate, propose, and implement solutions to processor and system performance issues on AMD’s electronics design engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a Performance Architect on AMD’s electronics design engineering team.
•Participate in microarchitecture exploration, performance modeling, and analysis for next-generation GPU and data center systems.
•Perform micro-benchmarking, workload characterization, competitive analysis, bottleneck identification, and optimization.
•Develop tools and methodology for performance analysis of workloads.
•Communicate, propose, and implement solutions to processor and system performance issues.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 164,640 - 282,240 annually

Key Requirements

•PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field plus 5 years of experience.
•Alternatively, an MS in a related field plus 8 years as a Computer Architect, Design Engineer, or in a processor design role, or a Bachelor’s plus 12 years of relevant experience.
•Experience with GPU/CPU or computer system microarchitecture.
•Experience developing and using computer system performance models.
•Strong programming skills, including experience with C++ and Python (or similar), plus computer workload analysis experience.
