Key Responsibilities

•Provide hands-on technical leadership through coding, in-depth code reviews, and architectural decision-making with tech leads and senior engineers.
•Drive design, implementation, and operation of resilient, highly scalable distributed systems; champion chaos engineering, error handling, caching strategies, and performance tuning to improve availability and MTTR.
•Define and execute the technical strategy and roadmap for core platform services, owning charters across areas like API gateways, service mesh, messaging/eventing, auth/identity, observability, and deployment platforms.
•Ensure customer- and business-centricity for platform solutions by aligning with business goals and delivering measurable impact.
•Attract, hire, and mentor engineering talent while fostering high code quality and developer productivity; run hiring loops and coach engineers toward senior/staff growth.

Key Requirements

•8–12 years of total software engineering experience and 4–6 years building and operating distributed systems at serious scale.
•2–3 years of people management experience leading teams of 8–15 engineers.
•Deep proficiency in at least one backend language (preferably Go, Python, or Java) with strong ability to review designs and code.
•Proven experience with distributed systems challenges (e.g., cascading failures, thundering herds, cache stampedes, database hotspotting, retry storms).
•Cloud-native fluency (AWS/GCP) with Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis, and observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana/tracing).
