Job Summary

Own ElevenLabs’ global indirect tax function in a hands-on, end-to-end role. Manage filings, payments, reconciliations, journal entries, exemption certificates, and audits across 40+ jurisdictions while scaling tax operations with Stripe configuration, tax codes, and e-invoicing readiness. Partner with Finance, Legal, and Product on taxability, invoicing requirements, and customer-facing tax questions, building compliance as new markets register.

Key Responsibilities

•Own all indirect tax globally, reporting to the Head of Tax.
•Manage the full indirect tax compliance cycle: filings, payments, reconciliations, journal entries, exemption certificates, and audits.
•Scale indirect tax operations by maintaining tax codes/configuration in Stripe and preparing for e-invoicing mandates.
•Stand up compliance in new markets as the company registers in new jurisdictions.
•Partner with Finance, Legal, and Product on product taxability, invoicing requirements, and customer-facing tax questions.

Key Requirements

•Deep expertise in US sales & use tax, including multi-state compliance, nexus analysis, product taxability, exemption certificates, and audit defense for digital/SaaS/electronically supplied services.
•Working knowledge of international VAT/GST compliance, with ownership of global filings alongside external advisors.
•Proven end-to-end ownership of multi-jurisdiction indirect tax compliance, including running filings, reconciliations, and audits.
•Strong systems and data skills with experience using billing platforms or tax engines such as Stripe Tax, Avalara, or Vertex, plus improving processes through automation.
•Comfortable operating autonomously as the sole indirect tax owner in a fast-moving environment.
