Key Responsibilities

•Own and drive a multi-year technical roadmap for the geometric reasoning stack, balancing research ambition with business value delivery.
•Lead the embedded DFM AI + IQE integration within partner ecosystems (Solid Edge, NX, DesignCenter, Teamcenter) and define architecture, geometry contracts, latency budgets, and digital thread roadmap.
•Architect and implement the hardest components of the geometric kernel (intersection, offset, Boolean, projection, trimming) with precision, robustness, and performance contracts.
•Drive DFM and sub-process intelligence by integrating classical geometry with ML approaches to detect manufacturability risk across CNC sub-processes.
•Translate research to production across geometry, ML, and platform teams; publish, patent, or open-source where appropriate and mentor Staff/Senior engineers.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 200,000 - 230,000 annually

Key Requirements

•MS or PhD in a closely related field (applied mathematics, computer science, mechanical engineering, computational physics) and typically 12+ years of progressive experience in geometry, CAD/CAE, or simulation; PhD with 8+ years equivalent.
•Deep expertise across the geometric modeling stack (analytical geometry, parametric/free-form geometry, B-Rep topology, NURBS, etc.) and robust geometry healing/repair.
•Hands-on experience with one or more geometric kernels (Parasolid, ACIS, CGM, Granite, ShapeManager, Open CASCADE/pythonOCC) and CAD interchange formats (STEP, IGES, JT, DXF, etc.).
•Expert-level C++ (C++14/17/20) with CMake, debugging, profiling, and bindings (SWIG, pybind11); strong Python for tooling and ML integration; comfortable with AWS for large-scale geometry processing.
•Experience translating research to production, mentoring engineers, and leading cross-functional initiatives in geometry, ML, and platform teams.
