Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure corporate office activities are carried out in accordance with applicable law and Hudbay’s mission, vision, strategic goals, policies, and values.
  • •Prepare and file continuous disclosure documents and exchange filings under applicable securities laws, including review of financial statements, MD&A, news releases, investor presentations, and NI 43-101 technical reports.
  • •Provide legal advice and assistance to corporate office and Canadian business units, including managing and reviewing confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements, and commercial contracts.
  • •Assist with execution and closing of financing and strategic transactions, including credit facilities, capital markets transactions, and M&A.
  • •Provide expert advice on the impact of proposed changes to Canadian laws and regulations on the company and its operations.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified to practise law in the Province of Ontario.
  • •Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • •2–3 years of experience practising corporate and securities law in-house or at a major law firm.
  • •Solid grasp of Canadian securities regulations and Canadian stock exchange rules, including public company disclosure obligations, TSX policies, and NI 43-101.
  • •Experience negotiating and executing transactions (ideally in natural resources/mining), including M&A, equity/debt offerings, project financings, and joint ventures.
