Key Responsibilities

  • •Execute functional, parametric, and performance testing on RF, digital, and mechanical designs under direction of hardware development engineers.
  • •Support product qualification by setting up, configuring, and monitoring units under test through environmental stress tests (thermal cycle, humidity, shock, vibration).
  • •Perform precision SMT soldering/rework, construct custom test fixtures, fabricate cable/wire harnesses, and assemble mechanical prototypes.
  • •Assist in hardware debugging and troubleshooting by reading electrical schematics and using standard lab diagnostic tools to isolate defects.
  • •Operate and manage RF/electronic lab instrumentation (calibrate, verify, and run tests), log/analyze test data, and support NPI transfer to manufacturing/contract manufacturers.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of electronics or RF hardware support experience, OR an Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology with 3 years as an electronics/hardware support technician, OR equivalent military technical training with hands-on electronics/RF hardware experience.
  • •Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, PCB layout prints, assembly drawings, and multi-tier BOMs.
  • •Exceptional hands-on mechanical assembly and soldering skills, including replacing fine-pitch ICs, QFNs, and passive components under a laboratory microscope.
  • •Strong familiarity with digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, variable power supplies, and electronic loads; and knowledge of hand assembly tools and screw types.
  • •Certified with IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001, with familiarity controlling instrumentation via GPIB/USB/Ethernet (basic scripting environments like Python or LabVIEW is desirable).
