Job Summary

Join the Data Center and Mission Critical team to design and develop data center heat rejection and HVAC systems for east-region projects. You’ll select cooling equipment, run CFD analyses to optimize airflow and identify hotspots, and engineer redundancy and fault-tolerant features. Own heat load calculations and capacity planning, improve energy efficiency and air filtration, and collaborate with electrical/mechanical teams to integrate UPS, power, and fire suppression needs.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and design data center heat rejection and HVAC systems, including cooling load, airflow, humidity control, redundancy, and energy efficiency.
•Select appropriate air/water-side cooling solutions (e.g., fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water, DX, CRAC, in-row cooling, containment).
•Perform internal and external CFD analyses to optimize airflow distribution, assess hotspots/transients, and recommend design modifications.
•Design redundancy and fault-tolerant HVAC systems with backup cooling, automatic switchover, and monitoring.
•Conduct heat load calculations and capacity planning, applying energy-efficient strategies and coordinating with electrical/mechanical trades for integration with critical infrastructure.

Travel: Low travel

•Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency).

•Knowledge of data center TER Standard Topology (Uptime Institute, TIA 942, ANSI/BICSI 002).
•Professional certifications related to HVAC engineering (e.g., CEM, BEMP, or LEED) are advantageous.
