Key Responsibilities

  • •Execute Global Material Sourcing (GMS) FTW material development activities supporting technical footwear needs.
  • •Translate end-use performance requirements into engineered textile solutions and drive material construction readiness for commercialization.
  • •Manage and oversee footwear material development and pre-production activities, including go-to-market milestones (construction lock, testing sign-off, factory readiness).
  • •Develop and maintain engineered material specifications and ensure supplier submissions meet spec intent through development and pre-production.
  • •Lead failure analysis/root-cause investigation for fabric-related issues and drive corrective actions with labs, suppliers, and factories.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience in apparel, footwear, equipment materials, and/or sourcing and supply chain organizations with demonstrated exposure to engineered textiles/performance fabrics.
  • •Experience in supplier development in knit/weave/warp-knit and finishing processes.
  • •Advanced knowledge of synthetic fibers, yarns, and engineered fabric construction and how these variables impact performance.
  • •Ability to define and interpret key construction parameters (e.g., gauge, courses/wales, stitch architecture, warp-knit structures, GSM, porosity, stretch/recovery) and specify them for repeatable commercialization.
  • •Strong test method literacy to align on test plans, interpret results/variability, and connect outcomes back to construction/process drivers for engineering sign-off.
