Job Summary

Execute Global Material Sourcing (GMS) activities for technical, functional footwear materials across all FTW brands. Translate end-use performance requirements into engineered textile solutions—fiber/yarn selection, fabric structures, finishing/lamination/coatings, and functional chemistries—while leading footwear material development and pre-production readiness. Partner closely with product development, sourcing, quality, sustainability, and external suppliers to define specifications, run test/validation, onboard capable mills, and drive failure analysis and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage and oversee footwear material development and pre-production activities aligned to the go-to-market calendar and construction milestones.
•Liaise with product development and innovation teams to set material engineering priorities supporting manufacturing regions.
•Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers with fabric engineering, construction, and innovation capabilities to expand the technical footwear material ecosystem.
•Define and maintain engineered material specifications (BOM inputs, construction parameters, critical-to-quality characteristics, tolerance windows) and ensure submissions meet spec intent.
•Lead test/validation readiness, failure analysis, and corrective actions for fabric-related issues, and support cost negotiation and supplier capability mapping.

Key Requirements

•Experience in apparel, footwear, equipment materials, and/or sourcing and supply chain organizations with exposure to engineered textiles and performance fabrics.
•Demonstrated supplier development experience in knit/weave/warp-knit and finishing processes.
•Advanced knowledge of synthetic fibers, yarns, and engineered fabric construction, including how construction variables impact performance.
•Strong understanding of fabric manufacturing and finishing processes and the ability to translate end-use requirements into manufacturable specifications.
•Ability to troubleshoot fabric failures and perform root-cause investigations across fiber/yarn, construction, finishing, and lamination/coating processes.
