Job Summary

Lead and develop a team of Solution Consultants supporting Workday’s presales efforts across Japan. Serve as a playing manager, delivering ERP-backed demos and presentations while guiding solution messaging, POV, and C-suite stakeholder engagement. Align presales plans with Japan’s GTM objectives, drive partner enablement for Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning, and use AI-enabled selling approaches. Manage hiring, coaching, and performance while influencing product roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as a playing manager, combining people leadership with direct Solution Consulting until the team scales.
•Lead the team to deliver differentiated presales value propositions and partner with Sales to evaluate and develop sales strategies.
•Deliver customer-focused demos and presentations using ERP expertise to map transformation journeys and articulate Workday value.
•Align across industry-focused sales teams in Japan on POV, solution messaging, and C-suite/stakeholder management.
•Hire, retain, coach, and develop team members, including performance management; create presales business plans aligned with Japan GTM objectives.

Travel: Medium travel

Key Requirements

•10+ years in a presales-related role selling enterprise software, and 5+ years of Solution Consulting/sales management experience.
•Experience in people management and performance management, building and motivating high-performing teams.
•Experience in the business applications marketplace, preferably ERP, Financials, or HCM (and applicable SaaS and AI experience).
•Strong discovery, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to influence C-level executives.
•Native-level Japanese and business-level English communication skills to collaborate with customers and internal teams.
