Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide human monitoring and operational support for ITS devices and traffic control equipment, taking appropriate actions based on SOP guidance.
  • •Coordinate roadway concerns and traffic incident management responses, including dispatching maintenance crews for snow/ice events.
  • •Maintain database entry for incidents, special events, roadway concerns, and call logs; assist with traffic data collection and troubleshooting.
  • •Assist NYSDOT with identifying, troubleshooting, and documenting device failures, establish repair priorities, and issue work orders for repairs.
  • •Answer phone inquiries and respond to notices/inquiries about roadwork, incidents, and TMC/ITS operations; support reporting and archival duties including ITS software backups.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma.
  • •0-2 years of experience with a TMC type facility and/or traffic management.
  • •Oral and written communication skills.
  • •Proficiency with computer/software including MS Office applications, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • •Ability to use digital roadway maps and maintain schedule flexibility for HVTMC operations; must pass a NYSP Criminal History Background Check.
