Key Responsibilities

  • •Select up to 2,500 pedigree birds daily by identifying gender, catching, scanning wing band numbers, and auditing market birds for wing bands.
  • •Assist with properly identifying coop birds are assigned to and help monitor ventilation and light.
  • •Maintain sanitation (clean foot pans, sanitizing selection breakroom and all equipment) and observe farm structures/equipment to recommend maintenance and repairs.
  • •Set up for selection by loading coops, placing catch frames, hanging lights, setting up scales and scanner, making coop labels, and running needed cords.
  • •Dispose of dead birds properly each day and support other duties such as moving birds within the complex and euthanizing weak/ill birds per policy.
