Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead HSSE program development, implementation, and continuous improvement for BYD operations across Saudi Arabia.
  • •Drive hazard identification, risk management, incident investigations, and corrective/preventive actions to closure; maintain risk registers and achieve HSSE audit compliance targets.
  • •Ensure full alignment with KSA HSSE legislation and secure/renew statutory permits and certificates; represent the business in regulatory inspections and audits.
  • •Develop and maintain site emergency response plans and supervise evacuation drills; maintain readiness of life-safety systems and lead HSSE response during major events.
  • •Lead, develop, and supervise HSSE Officers and the field HSSE team; coordinate ISO 45001/ISO 14001 accreditation and surveillance audits and deliver HSSE reporting to leadership.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • •NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) is mandatory; NEBOSH International Diploma is strongly preferred.
  • •IOSH Managing Safely certification is mandatory.
  • •Minimum 6 to 12 years of progressive HSSE experience, including at least 3 to 5 years in a managerial capacity.
  • •Strong working knowledge of KSA HSSE regulatory frameworks and ISO 45001/ISO 14001 certification and surveillance audits; bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English (mandatory).
