Job Summary

Operate heavy earth-moving equipment in the terminal to safely excavate, move, load, grade, and transport aggregate materials. Conduct pre-operational checks and perform basic equipment cleaning, lubrication, and refilling. Support the Yard Manager/Yard Foreman with materials handling and equipment usage, while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Additional duties may include operating general construction equipment with training, lifting up to 50 lbs, and completing tasks per instructions.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and other heavy equipment to excavate, move, load, and grade earth, rock, gravel, or other materials.
•Operate heavy equipment to move, load, and unload materials into/out of railcars and other modes of transportation.
•Conduct pre-operational checks and clean, lubricate, and refill equipment.
•Assist the Yard Manager and/or Yard Foreman in coordinating materials handling and equipment usage.
•Assist with assigned tasks as needed, including operating general construction equipment when given training.

Key Requirements

•Three years of experience in public works maintenance and/or construction work, including one year involving operation of a variety of heavy equipment.
•Graduation from high school or an acceptable equivalency diploma (preferred).
•Must maintain a safe driving record and have a valid driver’s license.
•Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation and company policies.
•Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and competently, including knowledge of heavy equipment capabilities and traffic/safety rules.
