Job Summary

Build real-time embedded firmware that enables Antares microreactor hardware to operate reliably. You’ll develop firmware for embedded controllers, instrumentation electronics, data acquisition systems, and test hardware, defining initialization, monitoring, commanded behavior, diagnostics, and fault responses. Work cross-functionally with electrical, controls, safety, test, and software teams to design, bring up, validate, and verify hardware-in-the-loop systems and configuration-controlled releases.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, develop, test, and maintain firmware for reactor instrumentation, control, monitoring, and electrical support systems.
•Develop embedded software in C/C++ for microcontrollers, embedded processors, and real-time hardware platforms.
•Bring up new hardware, debug board-level issues, and validate behavior using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, power supplies).
•Implement communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, RS-485) and develop telemetry, diagnostics, fault detection, and system health monitoring.
•Support hardware-in-the-loop testing, create test plans and verification procedures, and perform root-cause investigations for firmware, electrical, and integration issues.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 150,000 - 185,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
•5+ years developing production software in C, C++, Python, Rust, or similar languages for embedded, distributed, robotics, aerospace, automotive, industrial, or mission-critical systems.
•Experience building multi-threaded or multi-process systems (IPC, networking, message passing, or publish/subscribe).
•Experience integrating software with sensors, controllers, DAQs, power supplies, or other hardware-facing interfaces.
•Strong debugging skills across software, hardware, and system-integration boundaries.
