Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the development of aerodynamic models across all flight regimes and implement CFD workflows to characterize vehicle flow fields, aerodynamic coefficients, and stability behavior
  • •Develop aerodynamic databases for trajectory simulation and Monte Carlo analysis to support design and validation
  • •Create trajectory-coupled aerothermal environments including stagnation, distributed, and shock-interaction heating and assess their impact on vehicle performance
  • •Shape vehicle geometry and aerodynamic stability through analysis and design iteration to improve performance and reliability, including TPS sizing and material specification
  • •Develop and maintain full-vehicle thermal models and compare pre-flight predictions to flight data, refining models and providing inputs to design teams

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline; 1+ years of experience with structural or fluid dynamics (via work, projects, or lab)
  • •Master’s degree or PhD in aerospace or mechanical engineering (preferred)
  • •Experience with Ansys Fluent or equivalent
  • •Experience with industry CAD tools (SolidWorks, NX, OnShape, CATIA)
  • •Experience with thermal protection systems (TPS) or related thermal analyses
