Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and execute a 1–3 year Spend Scheme Compliance strategy aligned to business objectives and quarterly priorities.
  • •Own issuer-side scheme topics across Visa and Mastercard programs, including BIN management, thresholds, and rule interpretations.
  • •Manage and develop a team of Compliance Product Specialists through coaching, performance management, and clear role definitions.
  • •Own Card Disputes Compliance end-to-end (fraud and non-fraud), operationalising rules, governing risks, and optimising recovery rates.
  • •Design and maintain control frameworks, lead audit readiness and executive responses, and establish early-warning monitoring for scheme KPIs.

Salary: GBP 83,000 - 110,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Extensive experience leading issuer-side scheme compliance and disputes operations for Visa and Mastercard in fintech, banking, or payments.
  • •Proven ability to operationalise scheme rules, manage threshold monitoring programs, and deliver audit-ready control frameworks.
  • •Strong communication and negotiation skills, influencing senior internal leaders and external scheme executives.
  • •Deep knowledge of the card issuance supply chain, including processors, tokenisation, 3DS authentication, and dispute tooling.
  • •Ability to evaluate complex scheme rules and incident scenarios and translate them into pragmatic product and operational requirements.
