Job Summary

Own and build backend systems powering Fundable’s API, AI services, MCP, and a native workflow builder. You’ll design and implement a new external API with OpenAPI specs and optimized SQL, develop agentic AI microservices that translate natural language into deterministic filters, and build workflow execution with scheduling, retries, persistence, and integrations. Work end-to-end with high autonomy alongside founders, making architectural decisions and shipping production-ready systems.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead end-to-end development of a new external API, including API design (OpenAPI), architecture decisions, and optimized SQL for dynamic filtering.
•Build, deploy, and test agentic AI microservices that convert natural language into deterministic filters/permalinks.
•Modernize Fundable MCP with updated API routes, customer-scoped authentication, and auditable credit charging.
•Build Fundable’s workflow builder end to end (similar to n8n), including workflow schema/architecture and execution with scheduling, persistence, retries, and deduplication.
•Implement integrations and deployment across the backend stack from architecture through production, partnering with founders on key decisions.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 60,000 - 96,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Strong backend engineering experience building production systems from scratch.
•Strong TypeScript/Node.js or Python skills, plus SQL and Postgres experience.
•Experience designing APIs, data models, and distributed jobs with authentication, idempotency, retries, and observability.
•Understand how to use AI tooling (e.g., Claude, Codex) to build maintainable, modular systems.
•Practical experience with LLM-backed systems, agentic frameworks, RAG, structured outputs, evaluations, and deterministic validation.
