Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct a comprehensive service assessment of surgical oncology services, including infrastructure, workforce, and access to surgical treatment.
  • •Lead technical aspects of establishing quality surgical departments and adopt WHO/developed evidence-based surgical oncology protocols.
  • •Collaborate on national cancer control planning with the Ministry of Public Health and partners to integrate surgical oncology into strategy.
  • •Deliver structured hands-on training for young surgeons and support training for other health professionals, developing training materials and guidelines.
  • •Provide technical reports and support ongoing quality improvement through auditing of surgical morbidities and mortalities.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s Degree or above in Surgical Oncology.
  • •5 to 10 years of clinical experience in surgical oncology services in similar low-resource settings, with international experience.
  • •Experience in training healthcare professionals and establishing multidisciplinary teams.
  • •Strong background in policy development and stakeholder engagement, particularly with cancer centres and networks.
  • •Expert knowledge of English, with strong analytical writing, communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
