Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead measurement and detection strategy for ads fraud by defining taxonomies, labels, sampling plans, metrics, and evaluation frameworks.
  • •Analyze large datasets and behavioral networks to uncover emerging fraud patterns, estimate impact, identify root causes, and translate findings into detection and enforcement requirements.
  • •Design and develop scalable ads fraud detection/enforcement pipelines with feature generation, rules/models, near-real-time scoring, review feedback loops, and observability.
  • •Own the full detection lifecycle including backtesting, threshold calibration, offline/online evaluation, launch validation, experimentation, monitoring, drift detection, incident response, rollback, and retirement.
  • •Balance fraud loss, platform/advertiser risk, customer experience, false-positive costs, operational capacity, and business goals when recommending thresholds and enforcement strategies.

Key Requirements

  • •Ph.D. or M.S. in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or another quantitative field, plus industry data science experience (4+ years with an M.S., 2+ years with a Ph.D.).
  • •Relevant experience in data science with a focus on ads fraud, financial fraud, account risk, Trust & Safety, platform integrity, or enforcement engineering.
  • •Demonstrated experience building or materially shaping production detection and automated enforcement pipelines (batch/streaming, feature engineering, rules/models, decisioning, monitoring, and feedback loops).
  • •Strong knowledge of fraud/abuse detection and evaluation, including label design, precision/recall tradeoffs, calibration, threshold selection, drift detection, and adversarial adaptation.
  • •Fluency in statistical analysis with Python or a similar language and SQL, plus the ability to tackle ambiguously defined problems and translate work into scalable solutions.
