Job Summary

Assist the Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer with the safe, efficient operation of all engine room machinery and auxiliary systems. Maintain an engineering watch per STCW and company procedures, monitor and operate key equipment, and carry out preventive maintenance and inspections using the vessel’s PMS. Troubleshoot faults, keep accurate logs and maintenance records, ensure compliance with HSE, ISM Code, and MARPOL, and support dredging operations and emergency drills.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist the Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer in the safe and efficient operation of all engine room machinery and auxiliary systems.
•Maintain an engineering watch in accordance with STCW requirements and company procedures.
•Monitor, operate, and maintain main engines, generators, pumps, compressors, hydraulic, and fuel systems.
•Carry out planned preventive maintenance and routine inspections using the vessel's PMS; troubleshoot faults and report defects promptly.
•Maintain accurate engine room logs, maintenance records, and spare parts inventory; ensure compliance with HSE policies and statutory regulations; support dredging operations and emergency drills.

Key Requirements

•STCW III/1 Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OICEW) Certificate of Competency or higher.
•Experience on dredgers or other marine/offshore vessels is preferred.
•Maintain an engineering watch in accordance with STCW requirements and company procedures.
•Ensure compliance with company HSE policies, ISM Code, MARPOL, and relevant statutory regulations.
•Troubleshoot machinery faults and report defects promptly to senior engineering officers.
