Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the development of a power electronics technology platform for power electronics-based protection and motor controls.
  • •Develop power electronics switching topologies based on system and functional requirements.
  • •Provide technical design direction to design engineers.
  • •Coordinate validation efforts with the test engineering team and lead formal design and quality reviews.
  • •Serve as a power electronics subject-matter expert for solid state and hybrid circuit breakers and support codes/standards development and technical research/investigations.

Key Requirements

  • •MS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 10+ years related experience; OR BS with 15+ years; OR PhD with 8+ years.
  • •Strong understanding and experience in DC microgrid circuit protection applications.
  • •Knowledge of Codes and Standards development related to Semiconductor Circuit Breakers.
  • •Hands-on analog, digital, and power circuits development and testing; familiarity with test equipment and procedures (e.g., capacitor bank test system, oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies).
  • •Proficiency with design & simulation tools including Altium Designer, PSIM, ANSYS Simplorer, LT SPICE, MATLAB Simulink, and C programming; strong experience with DFSS tools.
