Job Summary

CQA Engineer responsible for independent verification and assurance that TSF construction works are executed per IFC drawings and specifications, overseeing QA/QC, geosynthetics, and earthworks across TSF infrastructure in Oman. You’ll lead site inspections, manage ITPs, and ensure compliance with ICOLD/ANCOLD/GISTM standards on landmark tailings projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide full-time site-based CQA presence during critical construction phases (earthworks, liner installation, drainage systems).
•Independently verify construction compliance against approved design drawings, specifications, and QA plans.
•Conduct regular site inspections, focusing on critical/high-risk activities such as subgrade preparation, tailings placement, and geosynthetic liner installation.
•Witness and enforce hold points and inspection checkpoints sign-off prior to continuation of works.
•Verify field and laboratory testing including density/moisture compliance and geosynthetic seam testing; document, track non-conformances, and ensure corrective actions.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in civil / Geotechnical / Environmental Engineering
•Full knowledge of TSF design and construction practices to independently verify construction compliance
•QA/QC procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and related standards
•Geosynthetics installation and testing
•Compaction and earthworks control
•Working knowledge of international dam and tailings standards, including ICOLD, ANCOLD, and GISTM
