Originate portfolio and secondary-market residential mortgage loans by interviewing applicants, gathering information, and completing thorough loan applications. Analyze applicant credit and automated underwriting results, recommend loan options, and coordinate with Compliance to deliver required disclosure documents. Submit complete application packages to processing, notify applicants of decisions, and resolve approval questions with customers, applicants, or creditors while following local, state, and federal lending regulations.

Key Responsibilities

•Interview residential mortgage loan applicants to obtain information and complete thorough loan applications.
•Compile and analyze applicant data including credit reports and automated underwriting findings.
•Recommend and outline loan options based on analysis and eligibility.
•Coordinate with Compliance to deliver required disclosure documents and submit completed application packages to processing.
•Notify applicants of loan decisions and correspond with customers/applicants/creditors to resolve questions for loan approval.

Key Requirements

•Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business/professional/technical or governmental regulations, and to write and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
•Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and geometry/algebra concepts.
•Ability to define problems by collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
•Intermediate personal computer skills including email, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics.
