Job Summary

Support the planning, design, and delivery of rail infrastructure projects in the Perth team under guidance from experienced engineers. Help develop new rail corridors, expand existing networks, and improve efficient use of transport infrastructure through engineering calculations, technical documentation, and project deliverables. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attend meetings and site visits, and build rail engineering expertise through AECOM’s 12-week paid summer internship program.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the planning, design, and delivery of rail infrastructure projects under the guidance of experienced engineers.
•Assist with projects that develop new rail corridors, expand existing networks, and improve transport infrastructure efficiency.
•Contribute to engineering calculations, technical documentation, and project deliverables.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while developing technical knowledge and professional skills.
•Participate in project meetings and site visits to gain hands-on experience across the project lifecycle.

Key Requirements

•Be in your penultimate year of a Bachelor’s or Postgraduate degree in Civil Engineering with a strong interest in rail.
•Interns must be curious and excited to apply their studies in a professional environment with strong communication and teamwork skills.
•Demonstrate a positive, proactive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to professionalism and integrity.
•Be able to work full time hours from 16 November 2026 to 19 February 2027.
•Have full working rights to work in Australia or New Zealand before applying (student and graduate visas are accepted).
