Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage asset management for deliveries and replenishment of consumables, coordinating shipping/receiving of materials.
  • •Maintain tools, test sets, and network equipment; assist with installs, provisions, tests, and maintenance of DS0 through OC192 services.
  • •Troubleshoot network equipment, remove/replace defective modules, track spares, and support isolation and restoration of service.
  • •Assist with installation/change/decommissioning/testing of next-generation technologies including edge compute, wavelength, fiber optic transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP layers; may install and test CPE.
  • •Perform preventive/scheduled maintenance and inspections on critical infrastructure, including HVAC systems, high-voltage electrical systems, and DC power plants; update installation records, trouble tickets, inventory, and provide status reports.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED, or up to 2 years of relevant job experience including 1+ years in network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.
  • •Entry-level technician knowledge of at least one discipline: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP (routers/higher-layer protocols), or Outside Plant (fiber locating, OTDR, mass fusion splicing).
  • •Knowledge of locating fiber optic cable, right-of-way, and As-Builts.
  • •Ability to maintain site security and cleanliness, and lift 50 lbs. while working in all weather conditions.
  • •PC skills with Microsoft Windows and Office; ability to quickly learn corporate databases; valid driver’s license; on-call 24x7 rotational basis.
