Job Summary

Maintain and troubleshoot BEUMER Individual Carrier System (ICS) baggage handling equipment at Gerald R. Ford International Airport. Perform routine and advanced electrical, mechanical, and control maintenance, respond to interruptions such as jams and sensor faults, and conduct preventive and corrective work following OEM documentation. Use SAC/PLC systems and diagnostic tools to inspect system health, log maintenance and fault trends, support upgrades and retrofits, and ensure Health, Safety, and Quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform routine and advanced maintenance on BEUMER ICS components, including diverters, scanners, and third-party interface equipment.
•Diagnose and resolve faults across mechanical, electrical, and control subsystems using structured troubleshooting.
•Respond to carrier jams, sensor faults, and control logic errors; execute resets and perform root cause analysis.
•Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance aligned with BEUMER standards and OEM documentation, including SAC/PLC monitoring and logic-based interventions.
•Maintain maintenance and fault logs, follow Health/Safety/Quality standards (including lockout/tagout and PPE), and support system upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Requirements

•Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
•2–5 years of hands-on experience in automated material handling systems, preferably in airport or logistics environments.
•Must be eligible to obtain and maintain airside security clearance.
•Deep understanding of mechatronic systems, including sensors, actuators, motors, and controls.
•Proficiency with BEUMER SAC systems and PLC programming (Siemens preferred), including fault diagnostics and industrial communication protocols like Profinet and CANbus.
