Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage construction administration including drafting change orders, resolving field issues, interpreting specifications, and communicating with the contractor.
  • •Oversee construction oversight, inspections, quality control, material sampling, field/laboratory testing, and quality assurance.
  • •Review daily reports and use real-time project data to manage and document field implementation of RFIs, design changes, and contractor non-conformance.
  • •Coordinate and lead meetings, including weekly and monthly look-ahead meetings and progress meetings as necessary.
  • •Act as intermediary between contractor and owner for design-related issues and dispute resolution, and assist with claims and contract modification negotiations.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Technology) or equivalent experience.
  • •Minimum of 7 years' experience directing construction activities and crews on civil projects.
  • •Prequalification as a Construction Engineer Level 1/Construction Manager with ODOT for Ohio Specifications and/or certification as an Engineer-In-Training recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Licensure.
  • •ACI Level I Certification and related field certifications (e.g., Aggregate Sampling Technician, Grade & Drain Level I Technician, Asphalt Field Technician, Structural Inspection Level I, KEPSC-RI, Work Zone Traffic Control Technician).
  • •Ability to read contract documents and demonstrate strong oral/written communication and safety compliance; valid, current Driver's license (or obtain within 3 months).
