Job Summary

Operate heavy road construction equipment to support heavy civil and highway projects, including roadway construction, grading, excavation, utility work, aggregate placement, and paving. Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, blueprints, and GPS machine control systems. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, monitor equipment performance, report maintenance and safety concerns, and maintain production and quality standards while following OSHA, MSHA (where applicable), and DOT requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Operate heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently, including motor graders, excavators, dozers, loaders, rollers, scrapers, backhoes, skid steers, and haul trucks.
•Perform grading, excavation, earthmoving, roadway construction, aggregate placement, and site preparation activities.
•Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, blueprints, and GPS machine control systems.
•Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required equipment inspection reports.
•Follow safety policies and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, MSHA (where applicable), and DOT regulations.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED required.
•1–2 years of heavy equipment operating experience in road construction, heavy civil construction, excavation, utility construction, or related fields.
•Experience operating one or more types of heavy construction equipment with demonstrated proficiency.
•Preferred experience working around underground utilities, roadway construction, grading, or earthwork activities.
•Valid driver’s license required.
