Job Summary

Lead the mechanical services team for an automotive reconditioning shop, reporting to the Reconditioning Manager. You’ll manage technicians (Auto Mech I–III), coordinate daily shop activities, and ensure vehicle repairs are completed to ADESA standards for auction readiness. Oversee onboarding and skill development, monitor repair orders and shop metrics, enforce OSHA safety requirements, and coordinate with parts and other departments to keep production and sale-day timelines on track.

•Lead and manage the mechanical team, holding direct reports accountable for daily performance, productivity, and quality targets.
•Plan and coordinate daily shop activities, managing vehicle flow and ensuring diagnostic and repair timelines are met.
•Oversee onboarding and training, helping Auto Mech I and II develop and ensuring all staff are trained on shop safety and equipment.
•Review repair orders and shop metrics to manage parts usage, labor hours, and overall shop efficiency.
•Enforce safety policies and OSHA requirements, conduct shop safety audits, perform final inspections, and reduce risk of post-sale arbitration.

•Valid driver’s license and ability to safely drive and operate a variety of vehicle makes, models, and sizes.
•Ability to perform physical requirements of the role and meet basic working-condition expectations.
